Kyle and Danielle Williams of Belleville, Michigan, were so excited to learn they were pregnant with a second child. About four months into the pregnancy, they went in for an ultrasound, and the doctor printed out a photo of the scan, assuring them it was going to be a girl — a baby sister for their excited daughter.
Danielle went home and spent the next couple of months filling the nursery with pink everything: clothes, toys, decorations… you name it.
Then, in March 2015, Danielle went into labor. Kyle was right there beside her, but as he peered over the drapes, he kept looking back and forth from the baby to Danielle, then back again. At first, he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.
Danielle could tell her husband was confused and rattled, but Kyle was having a hard time speaking.
“What’s wrong?! What’s wrong?!” Danielle frantically asked him.
“Well, there’s a bit of a surprise,” was all Kyle could say in return.
Doctors handed Danielle a tiny newborn baby, and that’s when she realized the truth about the baby who’d been growing inside her all along.
